Wyrd 0.1.3 has been tested successfully on Mac OS X 10.3.x. However, some of the popular OS X terminal emulators have default configurations that don't properly support colored curses applications such as Wyrd. A solution is to set the terminal emulation mode to 'xterm-color'. Mike Harris has provided screenshots of the appropriate dialogs for Terminal.app and for iTerm:
